Bloomington, Ind. – Jerry Williams, a 29-year veteran of the Cook organization with extensive experience in the company’s medical device sales operations, has accepted the position of senior vice president, physician and institutional relations for Cook Medical Inc.
The Salt Lake City, Utah native had most recently served as Cook’s regional sales manager for California and the northwest, and had previously held positions as West Coast district sales manager and sales liaison for Latin America with the company.
“Jerry has worked at the forefront of interventional medicine for nearly three decades, working side-by-side with many of the physicians who created minimally invasive therapies,” said Rob Lyles, global leader of Cook’s diagnostic and interventional products division. “We are confident Jerry’s leadership in this arena will enable him to further expand Cook’s impact on interventional medicine by working closely with the physicians and institutions that are pioneering the interventional procedures of the future.”
“My main goal will be to promote the ideals of Cook by working with those physicians currently influencing interventional medicine, as well as helping to identify and develop the next generation of innovators and leaders,” Williams said. “I am tremendously excited about taking on a new role in the continued growth of Cook and the further development of interventional medicine.”
Williams, who holds a B.A. in biology from University of Utah, left the university’s MBA program to accept his first job with Cook in 1977. An avid skier and outdoorsman, he enjoys getting out with his wife of 33 years, Ann, their four children and three grandchildren.
