Tips

  • For best results, the Biodesign Umbilical Hernia Graft should be placed as an underlay.
  • For adequate fixation, place a minimum of four equally spaced resorbable sutures along the periphery of the graft.
  • For best results during suturing, allow a 2 cm margin from the edge of the defect.
  • Place the graft in maximum possible contact with healthy, well-vascularized tissue to encourage cell ingrowth and tissue remodeling.
  • While the through-and-through sutures are in place along the periphery but not yet tied, close the defect primarily above the graft using a resorbable running loop suture.
