Recently the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK announced a new e-procurement strategy, as part of their cost savings initiatives to reduce non-pay expenses by £1.5 billion by 2015-2016.
At Cook Medical, we also think e-procurement makes sense. It reduces errors in customer orders and customer service. It saves time and money across the system. We’ve already seen the benefits of partnering with our customers on e-procurement, as evidenced by National Health Executive’s recent article on Cook and Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
“E-commerce is fantastic in removing those barriers and increasing accuracy. It’s about easy, correct transactions without the hidden costs of solving problems and correcting errors,” said Martin Matkin, director of Cook’s EU Healthcare Business Solutions team. “Reducing the cost of healthcare is what HBS is all about. We’re looking forward to working with the NHS to achieve its goal.”
