Procurement matters. Great products don’t mean much if they can’t get to the right patient at the right time.
At Cook, we care as much about procurement as we do about creating high quality products. We’ve been working with our customers to improve the procurement process, and we think organizations that are doing it well deserve to be recognized.
This year, we are sponsoring the Value and Improvement in Procurement category of the HSJ Value in Healthcare Awards. These annual awards recognize outstanding efficiency and improvement in the National Health Service (NHS) in the United Kingdom.
Hospitals and healthcare systems are under constant pressure to deliver better patient outcomes while finding ways to cut costs. We believe that creating an efficient procurement process has huge potential to cut costs out of healthcare while having zero negative impact on patient care. In fact, a more efficient supply chain has a positive impact on patient safety. With more automation and better data comes fewer human errors and fewer barriers to getting the right product to the right patient at the right time.
Cook is dedicated specifically to working with our customers to improve the supply chain process. We listen to the problems our customers are facing with purchasing, delivery, and inventory management and work together to create solutions. But, we know that this process requires collaboration from both supplier and provider in order to make real change, which is why we want to do our part in recognizing an organization that has done just that.
The winner of the Value and Improvement in Procurement award will be announced at the awards ceremony on September 23, 2014 in London. We’re looking forward to seeing who takes home the prize!
