Thank you, Global Healthcare Exchange.

We were honored recently when Cook Medical became an inaugural member of the Global Healthcare Exchange’s (GHX) new Millennium Club. GHX is a company that helps lower healthcare costs through the supply chain by increasing healthcare operational efficiencies. The Millennium Club recognizes healthcare providers and suppliers who generate over 1 million automated transactions annually through the GHX exchange. Cook Medical is one of sixteen U.S. suppliers in the 2015 GHX Millennium Club.

We’re proud of the work that has led us to this point, but we are not alone. Many providers and suppliers are using Perfect Order and GS1 Healthcare Standards to do better business. Perfect Order transactions are electronically processed orders that are delivered to the correct location, at the correct time, in the correct condition, at the correct price, and in the correct quantity the first time. This level of automation would not be possible if not for others in the industry who are also working on this. This is a true collaboration between buyers and sellers to improve patient safety and supply chain efficiency.

By looking beyond price, we were able to examine the ways in which we deliver medical devices to our customers. It has taken some time to get to this point, but Cook has been able to streamline its business in order to ultimately provide better care to patients.

We are honored to be acknowledged for our work in this area. Thank you, GHX, for your recognition. If you would like to watch the awards video, you can visit the GHX site here.
