Bloomington, Ind. — Cook Medical has announced Kjirsten Mickesh as the new director of global Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI). In her role, Mickesh will provide DEI global guidance and strategic oversight for all of Cook’s business functions and business units. This includes integrating DEI into HR, Supply Chain, Research & Development, and other business processes and programs by developing DEI learning experiences for employees, identifying community and health equity opportunities, and establishing goals and metrics to monitor progress towards our desired future state.
“I’m excited to build upon Cook’s history of commitment and action to create pathways to opportunity as we evolve to a greater level of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the company and with our business and community partners,” Mickesh said.
Mickesh has served in HR leadership roles throughout her career and developed expertise in diversity, equity and inclusion. She has experience leading the development and implementation of strategies and programs for various industries, ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies. She also volunteers at organizations with community efforts focused on equipping people with the necessary skills to be self-sufficient and to reach their potential.
Mickesh’s strategy includes assessing the current state, defining future state then mobilizing the commitment and energy of people at Cook towards fulfillment of Cook’s DEI commitment.
