Used to treat BPH and other soft tissue applications including open, laparoscopic, or endoscopic surgery to perform excision, resection, ablation, vaporization, coagulation, and hemostasis of soft tissues. The system's cutting and ablation qualities, together with the high power, allow high treatment versatility and great freedom of choice regarding BPH technique. Thulium laser radiation (emitting at a wavelength of 2 μm) is strongly absorbed by water and biological tissue. The laser's excellent cutting and vaporization speed remains relatively constant during the procedure, regardless of tissue vascularization. The laser beam penetrates only a fraction of a millimeter in the tissue, which provides the physician with a high degree of control and reduces the risk of injury.
