Is there an alternative to the 50A plug that could help reduce installation costs, avoid lengthy setup times, and minimize disruption to operating room availability?
There is no alternative to the 50A plug for the Litho Magneto 150 Ultra High Power Holmium Laser System. Electrical requirements increase proportionally with wattage, so the most practical options are to ensure at least one operating room can accommodate the 50A plug or to consider acquiring a laser that is compatible with existing electrical infrastructure. Using a different outlet is only feasible if it meets the required specifications of the laser in question.
When is the optimal time to switch Magneto mode off (or on) to achieve better coagulation results?
Magneto mode provides enhanced coagulation benefits during HoLEP procedures. There is no specific recommended time to deactivate Magneto mode; rather, its use depends on procedural needs. The system is designed with two separate pedals. During HoLEP, one pedal can be used for enucleation while the other can be used for coagulation, allowing the operator to switch to the coagulation pedal when the Magneto effect is desired.
What are the differences in tissue effects between Magneto mode and standard coagulation mode?
Magneto mode is automatically active when the coagulation preset is selected, even if not explicitly labeled. The primary advantage of Magneto mode over standard holmium laser settings is its extended pulse duration. By delivering the same energy over a longer pulse, Magneto reduces peak power and promotes a more controlled thermal interaction with the tissue, enhancing coagulation and hemostasis.
Using the same parameters, how does the effect of Magneto mode compare to TFL?
Magneto mode is designed to approximate the effect of a thulium fiber laser (TFL) while utilizing Ho:YAG laser technology. However, the user experience may be different because Magneto mode and TFL operate on different principles. Adjustments to energy and frequency may be necessary when utilizing Magneto to mimic the effects of a TFL, and optimal performance typically comes with operator experience.
Is there a difference in how energy is emitted in Virtual Basket mode between the Litho with Magneto and Litho without Magneto laser systems?
No, there is no difference in energy emission between the two systems when operating in Virtual Basket mode.
