Getting ready for Euro EUS 2016

Euro EUS, the leading European congress for endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), will be held at the Palais du Pharo in Marseille, France, April 14-15 and Cook Medical is delighted to once again be a congress partner.

The president for Euro EUS 2016, Erwin Santo, MD (Head of Department of Gastroenterology and Liver Diseases, Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center, Israel) will lead a team of worldwide EUS specialists in a series of state-of-the-art lectures and live demonstrations highlighting the latest developments in endoscopic ultrasound. The meeting will also feature an impressive selection of thought-provoking live cases transmitted from the Paoli-Calmettes Institute to the central meeting location.

“The 2015 meeting was probably the most successful workshop ever,” said Dr. Santo. “We had about 400 participants coming from 49 countries, a thirty percent increase compared with the previous year. This reflects the increased interest in endosonography, as well as the recognition of the high quality and popularity this meeting has gained.”

“EUS is rapidly changing,” Santo added, “from a basically diagnostic procedure to an interventional tool penetrating into our everyday practice. We see more and more drainage procedures that can substitute ERCP or percutaneous interventions and innovative techniques that combine EUS with NOTES. These changes are well reflected in the selection of our excellent faculty members, many of them pioneers in this fields.”

During this year’s congress, the world-renowned practitioners presenting and discussing live cases and techniques include: Erwan Bories (France), Nick Carroll (UK), Christoph Dietrich (Germany), Julio Iglesias (Spain), Michel Kahaleh (USA), Maria Chiara Petrone (Italy), Adam Philips (Israel), Ryan Ponnudurai (Malaysia), Luccio Rossini (Brazil), Adrian Saftoiu (Romania), Anand Sahai (Canada), Assad Soweid (Lebanon), and Jan Werner-Poley (Holland).

The deadline for abstract submissions is February 8. For more event and registration information, visit www.euro-eus.com.
