Bloomington, Ind. — Cook Medical today announced that the Volante™ Steerable Guiding Sheath
is now commercially available to physicians in the United States and select global markets. Volante is a versatile sheath that helps clinicians reach challenging anatomy without the need for multiple sheath exchanges, making procedures smoother, faster and more predictable.
Volante features a hydrophobic-coated sheath available in five different lengths and six different French sizes to suit a range of procedural approaches. The radiopaque tip enhances visibility under fluoroscopy, and the ergonomic, self-locking knob lets operators lock in the desired angle, so focus can remain on therapy delivery instead of sheath manipulation. Another feature is the braided Flexsteer™ shaft technology, which offers precision and control during procedures.
Along with products like the Coda Balloon Catheter and the Indy OTW™ Vascular Retriever, Volante is a valuable part of Cook’s Aortic Essentials portfolio. Cook Medical also provides comprehensive clinical education, procedure support and customer service to ensure successful adoption of Volante in your facility or practice. Quotes
“With Volante, we set out to give physicians fingertip control during fenestrated and branch endovascular procedures,” said Johnny LeBlanc, director of Cook Medical’s Aortic specialty. “The device’s 180-degree deflection and curve-retention capability allow for precise navigation to hard-to-reach sites, all while maintaining stability once the ideal position is achieved.”
“Adding Volante to our portfolio adds to our goal of having every tool physicians need to complete these procedures,” said Mark Breedlove, senior vice president of Cook Medical’s Vascular division. “Paired with access essentials like our CODA Balloon Catheter and Indy Snare, Volante streamlines cases, helping reduce procedure time and improving the overall experience for clinicians and patients alike.”
