Cook Medical Invites Urologists to Join Resonance® Registry

Bloomington, Ind. – Cook Medical invited urologists to sign up for the Resonance® Registry at the European Association of Urology Annual Congress which took place in Vienna, Austria, earlier this week. The registry has been set up in order to share best practices and collect information regarding patient outcomes on cases where the Resonance Metallic Ureteral Stent has been used.

The registry is built on Cook Medical’s exclusive online system called OpenDoor℠– the industry’s first transparent clinical-data management offering for physicians. OpenDoor provides users with the ability to review clinical data, benchmark results, and share and collaborate to identify better methods of delivering patient care. Registry access was extended to those attending EAU in order to share insights into the use of Cook Medical’s Resonance Metallic Ureteral Stent.

Physicians and researchers will be able to track individual patient progress and view community trends within 30 days of entering data from a case. OpenDoor also provides a means to collaborate globally across multiple medical specialties, institutions, societies and agencies to evaluate quality patient data.

The Resonance Metallic Ureteral Stent is specifically designed for extrinsic compression and to mitigate many of the problems encountered with traditional plastic ureteral stents.

“We are excited about the valuable information that the registry will provide. Urologists across the globe now have access to current data on best-practice treatment and placement options,” said Jean-Marc Creissel, global business unit leader for Cook Medical’s Urology division. “The EAU conference provided us with a wonderful starting point from which to grow the registry and help the physician community connect and collaborate with regard to Cook products, with the ultimate aim of improving levels of care provided to today’s and tomorrow’s patients.”
