Bloomington, Ind. – Joe Roberts, a veteran of the Cook organization, has been named vice president of corporate development, Cook Medical officials announced today. Roberts will report to Jerry Williams, senior vice president of corporate development, and will be responsible for working with physicians and hospitals to continue the innovation and product development in the medical device field.

“With his passionate dedication to patients and his uncompromising support for physicians exploring new treatment options, Joe Roberts exemplifies everything that has helped Cook earn the trust of the medical community over the last 48 years,” said Kem Hawkins, president of Cook Medical. “Having Joe on our executive team strengthens our ability to focus on finding innovative solutions that help patients worldwide.”

Roberts joined Cook in 1979 as a sales representative and since then has held a variety of positions within the company, including positions in product development and leadership positions in sales and marketing. Roberts retired from Cook in 2003, rejoined the company in 2008, and has most recently worked with the corporate development team.

“I am grateful and appreciative to Cook for allowing me to take on this role,” Roberts said. “The relationships I’ve built with physicians and within the Cook community over the years are invaluable to me, and returning to Cook has felt like returning home. I’m very pleased to be back.”

Originally from Scranton, Pa., Roberts attended the University of Scranton and received a bachelor’s of science in sociology. He currently lives in St. Paul, Minn.
