Cook Pharmica Names Ryan Hawkins Vice President of Drug Product Operations

Bloomington, Ind. – Ryan Hawkins has been promoted to vice president of drug product operations, Cook Pharmica officials announced recently. In his new role, Hawkins will continue to lead all aspects of the drug product business unit, with an increased focus on process excellence as the company moves toward commercial-scale contract manufacturing.

“Since joining Cook, Ryan has relentlessly pursued excellence in building, staffing and operating a world-class drug product manufacturing facility,” said Tedd Green, president of Cook Pharmica. “Ryan’s leadership, passion and positive energy led to the completion of our newest business unit in unprecedented time. Ryan’s vision of teamwork and accountability set the tone for a tremendously positive project experience and will have lasting effects on the drug product operations.”

Hawkins joined Cook in 1998 as a microbiologist for Cook Imaging. He was promoted to a supervisory position in 1999 and oversaw various aspects of the manufacturing process. When Baxter BioPharma Solutions acquired Cook Pharmaceutical Solutions in 2001, Hawkins took on the role of finishing manager and continued to assume additional responsibilities until he joined Cook Pharmica in 2007. He most recently served as director of drug product operations.

“It has been my good fortune to have had the opportunity to work with so many dedicated and talented people during my time at Cook,” Hawkins said. “Their support, coupled with that of family and friends, has set me up to contribute in ways that I could not have otherwise anticipated. We feel like we are building something truly special here at Pharmica and I’m proud to be part of that story and the Cook organization.”

Hawkins, originally from Bloomington, earned his bachelor of science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a master’s in business administration from Indiana Wesleyan University.
