Quanta Litho EVO Holmium laser now available in US and EU

Bloomington, Ind. – The Litho EVO holmium laser is now available through Cook Medical in the United States, Austria, Germany, France, Ireland, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

The Quanta Litho EVO laser is now available through Cook Medical.

The product is the latest offering from Quanta System available through Cook Medical distribution. Litho EVO is indicated for laparoscopic and endoscopic surgical techniques for lithotripsy and for soft tissue procedures in urology, gastroenterology, and general surgery. This holmium laser is unique because it offers the features and benefits that are expected on a high-power laser in the low-power laser segment.

“Quanta is an established pioneer in the medical laser market. When combined with Cook’s comprehensive line of urological disposables, physicians can get the best of both new laser innovation and trusted performance to treat patients,” said Mike McConnell, global product manager for laser and lithotripsy products at Cook Medical.

The Litho EVO laser is equipped with MasterPULSE and Vapor Tunnel™ technologies, both features exclusive to Quanta branded machines. MasterPULSE empowers physicians to fine tune retropulsion control, while Vapor Tunnel is the optimal long pulse setting for reduced retropulsion and dusting. Unlike most other low-power laser systems, the Litho EVO can achieve high emission performance even with small fibers. The Litho EVO allows up to 25W through a true 200 micron fiber or up to 35W through a true 272 micron fiber. This extra output allowance provides more power while still using small enough fibers to leave room for irrigation and temperature regulation of the surrounding tissue.

In addition to these benefits, the Litho EVO offers several benefits to healthcare facilities. Although it can achieve 35W, the Litho EVO uses standard electrical requirements for its size and thus can be plugged in to most electrical outlets in the United States and Europe. This means that the laser is more portable than high-watt laser systems. Healthcare facilities can use the Litho EVO without needing to rewire operating rooms or make other electrical changes.
